Aston Villa agrees Kaiyun deal

Premier League side Aston Villa has named Asian betting brand Kaiyun as its official principal partner and official sleeve partner.

The brand is entering the European market for the first time and will boost brand awareness to millions of viewers around the world with its logo appearing on the Villa strip.

Kaiyun Sports is Asia’s top digital sports platform, giving users immersive online and offline content via an exclusive app that integrates both sport and entertainment.

Aston Villa chief commercial officer Nicola Ibbetson said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Kaiyun, a brand who share our challenger ambition. We look forward to working together, providing great experiences for fans.”

Kaiyun Sports chief marketing officer said: “Kaiyun Sports look forward to working with Aston Villa to write a new story of football co-operation.

“We will work together to create a safe online and offline interaction for users – a one-stop sports and entertainment platform, providing fans around the world with a top sports experience.”

Aston Villa recently named cryptocurrency casino and sportsbook Duelbits as its official European betting partner for the 2022/23 season.

It remains to be seen how much longer Premier League sides are able to cash in on betting companies, with increasing pressure on the government to introduce tougher legislation.

Currently dozens of teams in the English top flight have deals with betting brands. These include the likes of Stake.com and Sportsbet.io who have shirt deals.
