Dapper Labs, the company behind the non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace NBA Top Shot, is going to take its products on the road and offer in-person sales of NFTs.
This is the first time NBA Top Shot has decided to only sell a digital asset from a physical location and at real NBA games, which could give the brand better exposure to basketball fans.
It will have an exclusive list of NFT assets to sell at the NBA Summer League games in Las Vegas.
The company is using the opportunity to pilot its offer during the Las Vegas games, even though they attract a much smaller crowd and usually involves newly-drafted players and rookies.
NBA Top Shot will bring one new moment from each game held on August 8, 9 and 10 and each will be purchasable at a kiosk at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas for $5. The company plans to have at least 1,000 of each NFT and expects to sell them all.
Dapper Labs is also holding a special raffle which will see eight lucky NBA Top Shot users get a paid ride to the games. Meanwhile, NBA Top Shot has achieved a lot, having proven one of the most successful NFT marketplaces on the internet.
The company successfully sold a LeBron James moment in April for the eye-watering $387,600 and has generated an estimated $700m in transactional volume.
If you are a fan of digital assets, we recommend trying to bet with crypto at Cloudbet, Sportsbet or 1xBit for the upcoming NBA season.
