Dogecoin remains Twitter’s most loved currency

A study has investigated the most liked and most hated cryptocurrencies on Twitter, with Dogecoin (DOGE) revealed to be the most popular on the platform.

DOGE has enjoyed a wave of endorsement on Twitter, a platform that is now owned by Tesla CEO and long-time DOGE proponent Elon Musk.

Endorsed by Musk, the “meme coin” climbed to glory between January 2021 and January 2022, which is the period surveyed by TRG Datacenters.

The study only focused on five popular cryptocurrencies; Bitcoin (BTC), Cardano (ADA), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) and DOGE.

According to TRG Datacenters the biggest outpouring of support went straight to DOGE with ETH constantly criticized compared to other Layer 1 cryptocurrency solutions.

ETH’s steep gas prices and even energy costs have caused much disagreement between Twitter users, who have been withdrawing their support from the rival to BTC and condemning it as a poor blockchain network.

BTC came second in terms of most hated cryptocurrency on the platform, with a total 27% negativity score, which was still better than ETH’s 29%. ADA was third with 16% negative score and LTC was fourth with only 8%.

TRG Datacenters combed through all available tweets on the platform and looked into how many of those were positive as opposed to negative.

As a result, DOGE remained the most favored one with 94% of all tweets mentioning the cryptocurrency expressing a positive sentiment.
