Opera launches Web3 crypto browser

Opera has launched its Web3 Crypto Browser, which will enable consumers to have access to a built-in crypto wallet.

The wallet will facilitate access to cryptocurrencies and NFT exchanges, the company said. The browser also has support for decentralized apps (dApps) and other functionalities.

The idea behind the app is to make onboarding with crypto a much easier and safer process, especially for mainstream consumers, according to Opera EVP Jorgen Arnensen.

The non-custodial wallet will enable consumers to easily navigate mainstream cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and others and transfer them to and from cold storage.

The purchase of cryptocurrencies with FIAT will also be supported, making for a comprehensive solution.

Opera has not got much of a bad rep for venturing into crypto, though – at least not when compared to what happened to Mozilla.

The firm previously suggested that its followers may dump their spare BTC and ETH, or even Dogecoin, to back the project, which elicited a harsh backlash from the original co-founder Jamie Zawinski who spared the company no criticism. As a result, Mozilla backtracked its appeal and apologized.

If you want to play at crypto casinos in the meantime, we recommend going to Bitcasino, 1xBit or FortuneJack.
