NFT and gaming development hub Polygon Studios has launched with Rario, an officially licensed cricket NFT platform.
Similar to NBA Top Shots, Rario will provide digital collectibles of moments from cricket history which are signed over to consumers who have purchased each NFT.
This is a starter project for Polygon, which will seek to develop its offer further.
To ensure high quality collectibles, Rario has already signed several partnerships with leading cricket leagues around the world, including the Sri Lanka Premier League and the Caribbean Premier League.
Rario is hoping to achieve success similar to that of NBA Top Shot, where transactions have already surpassed $700m in sales.
However, cricket has a slight edge over basketball. It’s watched by 2.5 billion people around the globe making it an ambitious market for NFT sales – one that can potentially eclipse NBA Top Shot easily.
We believe Rario is laying down the foundations for making digital collectibles the most prized asset for sports fans in India and across the world”, Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal said.
The company’s is only getting started with NFTs with more projects down the pipeline.
If you prefer traditional sports experiences, such as betting, we recommend trying the available crypto sportsbooks out there, including Sportsbet.io, 1xBit and FortuneJack.
