Polygon has partnered with fledgling NFT-based poker platform PokerAces, which is expected to launch in October.
Crypto Gambling News revealed last month that the new poker platform has been built by a team of industry veterans, including former senior executives from PokerStars and Full Tilt.
Polygon announced the partnership via a tweet, describing PokerAces as “a platform deployed #onPolygon aimed at bringing the ‘fun back to poker’”.
“#POKERACES is minting up to 10k PokerACE #NFTs, which grant access to exclusive AI Hold’em races that take minutes to get to the money”, the tweet continued.
Owners of PokerACE NFTs will be able to use the PokerAces platform to rent out their digital tokens to other players for “an additional revenue stream anytime they’re not playing”, according to Polygon’s Twitter thread.
A proprietary algorithm will measure each player’s performance in the tournament and distribute token rewards, with each ‘ACE’ NFT having a unique PokerDNA coded directly into its metadata.
“Your ACE will battle other Poker #NFTs in a ‘race to the money’, that only takes a few minutes. Once ‘in the money,’ you can take over and play for the win”, concluded the thread.
The PokerAces website currently greets visitors with the statement: “coming soon, race to the money, race to win”.
By entering an email address prospective users can subscribe to notifications and be the first to know when the launch with Polygon goes live.
