Prada announces Cassius Hirst NFT drop

Italian fashion house Prada has announced it will launch 100 non-fungible tokens (NFT) as part of its collaboration with Cassius Hirst.

The brand has recently launched a collection of unisex button-down shirts with Hirst, son of artist Damien Hirst. As of Thursday June 2, there will be 100 Ethereum NFTs up for grabs.

Alongside the purchase of a shirt from the latest collection, buyers will be airdropped a free of charge NFT corresponding with the colour scheme; a black and white pill capsule.

Not only will the NFT include a drop serial number, but it will also link to a number associated with each physical shirt.

The Aura Blockchain Consortium, a non-profit founded by LVMH, Prada and Cartier, was the brains behind the recent NFT drop.

The organisation uses an Ethereum-based blockchain platform named Quorum, which offers blockchain products, blockchain-as-a-service and ConsenSys rollups.

This 100 NFT release isn’t Prada’s first dip into the crypto world. In January the famous fashionwear brand partnered with Adidas in a release called Adidas for Prada re-source on the Polygon network.

The collection saw 468 Ethereum (ETH) in total volume traded with its floor price at 0.077 ETH, or $140 per NFT.

Gucci and Balmain have also ventured into Web3 with Ethereum NFTs and more recently, Balenciaga announced it will accept Bitcoin and ETH as means of online payment in selected stores.

While fashion stores compete to be the next big thing in crypto, you can use yours for gaming. We recommend turning to Bitcasino, 1xBit or FortuneJack.
