Latin American crypto company Ripio has launched a prepaid debit card in Brazil allowing cryptocurrency payments and cashback rewards in Bitcoin (BTC).
The new card will enable payments in the 28 cryptocurrencies, listed on the platform, and also allow payments using Brazilian reals.
Ripio CEO Sebastian Serrano said the company is considering adding rewards in not only BTC but other cryptocurrencies too.
A digital version of the debit card is already available with a view to release 250,000 of the cards in a partnership with Visa by end of the year, offering the new product to its one million users in the South American country.
Ripio hopes to expand the launch of the card globally starting with branching out to Argentina later this year.
Aside from Argentina, the company hopes to provide the debit card throughout LatAm in Uruguay, Mexico and Colombia, but also into the EU in Spain; all countries where the firm currency operates.
