YouTube channel Bankless has become the latest prominent crypto community to get suspended from the Google-owned giant.
The channel had more than 150,000 subscribers and was focused on delivering news from the world of Ethereum.
Bankless has been suspended without justification or warning, and in its lifespan, it has covered several prominent interviews with figures within the community.
One of them was Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of the Ethereum blockchain. According to Buterin, there was nothing to justify the termination.
Attempts to click through to the previous URL wash internet users to a notice that reads: “The page isn’t available”. More channels have been hit of late.
Legitimate channels focused on educating people about Web3 have come under fire. Gabriel Haines.eth and Optimism Collective were both hit with out-of-the-blue bans.
Google has not made an official statement, but it usually chalks up sudden bans to violations of its terms of service, which are difficult to prove in the first place.
However, this could serve as an early warning for others and particularly those trying to make a crypto channel on YouTube.
The Google-owned video sharing and streaming platform has been trying to reintroduce cryptocurrency topics in a safe and responsible manner over the past few years.
However, sudden bans of outwardly legitimate channels raise more questions than answers.
If you want to stay away from tangling with regulators, you may just go to 1xBit, FortuneJack or Bitcasino.io and use your crypto to play there.
